Christ the King celebrates it’s best ever Open Evening

Last night we hosted our annual Open Evening – a chance for prospective students and parents to come and visit the school and find out about all the fantastic things we have to offer here at Christ the King.

The event proved to be extremely well attended by many families from the local area. The whole school was buzzing and had a fantastic atmosphere, with staff and students taking great delight in showing visitors the great work that goes on here.

Visitors enjoyed an evening packed full of fun departmental activities, across all curriculum areas, from stimulating Science experiments to hands-on baking in Food Technology and Maths quizzes with many prizes to be won.

The main school hall was packed on both occasions to hear the welcome presentation from our new Headteacher, Mrs. Wheeler, the Deputy Headteacher, Ms. Stead and with our newly appointed Year 11 and Year 13 Head Boys and Head Girls who captivated the audience with the entertaining stories of their experiences at the school.

Feedback on the evening was excellent with parents singing their praises. Our students were particularly fantastic on the night, with their school tours, stewarding, demonstrations and activities which all were instrumental in encouraging the younger children to join in.

All families who provided their contact details will be hearing from us soon regarding further opportunities to visit our school during the working day to gain an insight into our community.
