Psychology is the science of mind, behaviour and experience. It is a relatively new discipline which encompasses a wide range of approaches to understand different behaviours. We teach you a number of the main approaches to provide them with an insight into the discipline as a whole and to develop a greater understanding of their own behaviour in a variety of contexts.


We use the AQA programme of study. The papers are split as follows for AS Level:
Paper 1: Introductory Topics in Psychology Social Influence, Memory and Attachment.
Paper 2: Psychology in Context Approaches in Psychology, Biopsychology, Psychopathology, Research Methods.
For the award of the full A Level, the papers are split as follows:
Paper 1: Introductory Topics in Psychology As above plus Psychopathology.

Paper 2: Psychology in Context As above. Psychopathology is assessed on paper

Paper 3: Issues and Options in Psychology Relationships, Schizophrenia and Forensic Psychology
