Why should I study BTEC Business Studies at Moor Park?
The Business Studies department at Moor Park Sixth Form will strive to ensure you can develop a wide range of skills, together with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Business Studies in a vocational learning environment. The teaching team are experienced and knowledgeable. We are committed to developing students’ skills in order to achieve their highest potential. There are purpose built classrooms with state of the art facilities, including plenty of resources such as text books and revision aids.
All subject handouts, examination papers and marking schemes will be available on the schools e-learning site.
What will the course involve?
Studying business gives you the opportunity to learn how organisations operate in theory and how they function in practice. It is a practical course designed to develop the skills you will need to solve problems, which are likely to arise in daily work. You will learn practical approaches to business, finance, accounting, marketing, human resources, management and e-business. You will also have the opportunity to visit a number of local businesses, enjoy and engage in enterprise activities and listen to talks from numerous local entrepreneurs and business professionals.
How will I be assessed?
The Business Studies BTEC Certificate course is based around 100% coursework, there are no exams, through your own research and group projects you will complete a number of units including:
- Business Environment
- Business Resources
- Introduction to Marketing
- Business Communication
You may also choose to specialise in a specific area.
Where does this course lead?
The BTEC Certificate in Business prepares students well for further study at university, following degree programmes in Business related areas, such as business management, accounting and marketing, tourism and financial services. Employment opportunities are also vast, such as banking, advertising, human resources, retail and accounting.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
You will need at least five GCSEs at C or above including English and Maths.
