Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Christ the King.
We are the only 11-19 Catholic High School and Sixth Form Centre in Southport.

Christ the King is a community built around the education of character and one which is focused on all aspects of the development of the whole person: academic, moral and spiritual. We have exceptionally high aspirations for every pupil, which is lived through our distinctive CTK Way.

We also have a strong and supportive pastoral care system supporting the needs of every pupil, a clear strength in its recent Ofsted inspection (February 2020):

The curriculum aims to stretch, challenge and support the needs of all pupils. There is clear leadership at all levels who share the same ambition to ensure all pupils ‘grow’ at Christ the King.

We are on a significant journey of improvement which highlights our relentless focus to ensure pupils achieve the best grades possible. This is evident in the growing number of 7+ grades achieved at GCSE across all subjects with a high proportion of grade 9’s at GCSE in the past two years.

We offer a vast enrichment and extra-curricular programme which extends learning beyond the classroom, which was recognised in Ofsted’s latest report: “There is a wide range of opportunities, beyond the academic, that engages the pupils.”

We have had a number of queries about extra-curricular clubs. Please see the main presentation for specific information which follows after the promotional video.
